BITCON 2024

The tech sector is a playground for our most promising ideas about the future; yet it is also the fastest growing and most unregulated economy in the world. Tech upholds grossly oppressive systems, massively curtailing the influence of people of color worldwide while establishing a white, male tech world order that impacts every aspect of life. Currently, Black and Latinx workers hold 3-4% of tech leadership positions. 2040 begins the decade when the US majority will be people of color.

As technology continues to dictate who wields power in our world and who does not, it is imperative that we take the lead. We are building the power of Black and Latinx tech workers to transform the future of technology. Code2040 is eradicating the racial biases that currently underlie technological creation and the weaponized use of AI against communities of color across the world, while realizing the transformative, life-affirming potential of a tech sector with Black and Latinx people at the helm. Code2040 is holding big tech accountable. Because if tech changes for the better, so does the world.
